Spring 2008 (I)

During this spring the weather has been really variable. We have had hot and sunny days in the first weeks of may, and very rainy and cool weeks in late May and June. This has made the plants to wake up early, but many flowers and leaves have malformed during the following cool weeks. Here are some pics I did during the last weeks.

Sarracenia flava

Drosera capensis

If you are planning to plant a Drosera capensis in Madrid, think it twice, as the air in Madrid City has something against this plant and will probably try to kill it. This happened to me recently. It was a big loss. :(

Hi Plant addicted, and welcome to Plantaland! Do not become frustrated by that loss. Life has more things to offer to you than carnivorous plant deaths. Why not another try in a different city? I've heard rumors that in Getxo, plants grow healthy and colorful. Remember, plantaland is a way of life. Let the plants and joy meet!

Thank u very much plantaland. you really changed my mind. I'll leave the mourning and will give a new oportunity to my adiction with a new try somewhere else.
I agree on that opinion about Getxo. Its damp climate could be propitious for this especies.
I'll keep you informed about my progress.

See u soon.
